Scottish Historic Motor Racing Festival
July 21st & 22nd, 2007

To all Tin Top Competitors

Don’t polish that race car again; put some elbow grease into your sporran instead. Forget tuning Webers, turn your attention to the bagpipes instead, yes, get your tartan tyre warmers ready it’s that time of year again!

The second running of the Scottish Historic Motor Racing Festival takes place on the weekend of July 21/22nd 2007 at Knockhill near Edinburgh.

We have negotiated a great one hour long, 1 or 2 driver race for pre ’66 saloons and closed sports-cars built to FIA appendix ‘K’ spec. (papers are not required).

THE ORGANISERS INFORM US THAT THIS RACE WILL BE TELEVISED so pay attention to personal grroming and remember to set that video!

Those who raced last year were universal in their praise of the undulating barrel of excitement that is Scotland’s premier circuit and the welcome extended by the organisers was excellent.

Stuart Gray and the Knockhill team are determined to build this event into a credible alternative to other Historic racing festivals in the UK and are making big efforts with British Formula Juniors, Formula Fords, Morgans & Classic Sportscars in addition to the TinTop Race Saloon and Sportscar race. Off track there are over 400 show cars, full blown Rally Stages, Historic heavy vehicle displays, Aero displays, bikes and much much more!

It was widely expected to be a Mini benefit when we turned up last year but events conspired to see V8’s do much better than expected, eventually winning.

This year’s outcome remains a mystery as surely the weather can’t be as glorious again, surely two front runners won’t tangle again on the first lap and surely last lap mechanical failures won’t change the outcome of the race…..or will they?

All this for a bargain £350 so enter now to guarantee a cracking race at a great location, no ferry worries, cheaper mobile phone calls and a great opportunity to spend a long weekend in Edinburgh.
